CyberKnight & the Hand Puppet Commandos®

CyberKnight and the Hand Puppet Commandos Origin Story” (the 1st of a trilogy of Novels) tells the story of how Scientist and Inventor Daryl “DAX” Daxler cracks the Fermi Paradox! (Where are all the aliens?). SETI (the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) has never detected any signs of “Alien Intelligence” because aliens aren’t using Radio Signals (commonly known as RF or Radio Frequencies), they communicate using Synthetic Telepathy. The machine Dax builds results in her intercepting a telepathic “World Protector Kit” which results in her becoming Earth’s “CyberKnight”, the reluctant, yet powerful “Planet Protector” and leader of the “Hand Puppet Commandos”.

CyberKnight and the Hand Puppet Commandos is a compelling, original sci-fi script with a charismatic protagonist and an idiosyncratic premise. You do a great job inserting Dax’s childhood interests — specifically the puppets and characters she creates — organically into the first act. So when these puppets are anthropomorphized, it feels like more than a goofy plot twist. We actually see what Dax’s imagination at work. The puppets are a part of her, and their helping Dax accomplish her goal represents her diving deep into her own subconscious for inspiration. You do a good job being quite specific about the science you use in the script without bogging the plot down in unnecessary details. People already obsessed with extraterrestrial life will enjoy the script, but alien agnostics will also have a good time.

TITLE: CyberKnight and the Hand Puppet Commandos

GENRE: Sci-Fi / Adventure / Action-Comedy

FORMAT: Feature Screenplay PAGE COUNT: 124

WRITER: (Redacted for Anonymity)

A wildly imaginative, tonally unique sci-fi adventure. The fusion of big ideas (Fermi Paradox, synthetic telepathy) with quirky character elements (hand puppets, fourth-wall breaking humor) is daring and fresh. The high-concept premise—using thought waves to contact aliens—is intellectually stimulating but accessible, creating a strong hook. The script kicks off with energy and wit, introducing a dynamic female protagonist and launching straight into chaos before flashing back to a layered origin story. Structurally, it does a good job balancing exposition with action. The midpoint twist—contact with alien intelligence—is executed with real cinematic potential. The third act delivers escalating stakes, emotional payoffs, and a dramatic villain transformation.

CHARACTERS:

  • Dr. DAX DAXLER / CYBERKNIGHT – A memorable and marketable protagonist. Neurodivergent- coded brilliance with relatable insecurities. Her connection to childhood puppets is both endearing and symbolic of her inner voice/team. Think Amélie meets Tony Stark.
  • Dr. GRAY SUTHERLAND / GRAYLORD – Strong antagonist turn; his descent into madness is chilling. Echoes of Dr. Manhattan or Green Goblin.
  • AGENT KEITH SKINNER – Instant franchise appeal. Swaggering fed with shades of Fox Mulder and Tommy Lee Jones. Potential to expand into a lead in sequels or spinoff.

DIALOGUE:

Clever, character-driven, and often laugh-out-loud funny. Dax’s voice (both internal and aloud) is sharp and distinct. Some exposition by the Hand Puppet Commandos feels a tad on-the-nose but is mostly balanced by visual storytelling and quirk.

MARKETABILITY:

Highly marketable as a YA-skewing sci-fi adventure with broad four-quadrant appeal. Comparable to Everything Everywhere All At Once, Ms. Marvel, or Guardians of the Galaxy in tone. Strong merchandising potential with the Puppets and the Metalicans.

  • RECOMMENDED

High concept, unique tone, and a female lead with franchise potential make this a standout submission.  Excellent pitch material for studios seeking smart genre content with heart and humor.

What Our
Customers Say About Us!

Stumbled upon this by accident, so gave it a shot. Was completely blown away, and literally could not put the book down till I finished it at 3 AM! The author weaves a classic super hero narrative with a deep understanding of science and the mysteries of the universe, leavened with a dash of humor. The formula is an absolute winner, and I anxiously await the sequel{s).

Some interesting ideas in this fast paced sci fi adventure. It’s set up to be the first in a series and I’ll keep an eye out for the sequel. Elements of Transformers, Toy Soldiers, and the Indian in the Cupboard come together in a Science fiction superhero origin story. The tone bounces between YA wish fulfillment and hard science… this mostly works but at times I wanted it to commit to one or the other… This will definitely appeal to the nerdy YA fans. Worth a read!

This is an amazing book telling the story of the origination of CyberKnight. In addition there is a comic book series with incredible illustrations . . . incredible art and attention grabbing storyline … But ,. . read the origin story in this book first. It’s science fiction backed by real science . . . not pure fantasy. It’s a real page turner and some is based on real government projects in the fringe area. This is a must read, and I hear this will be made into a film or series of films… really amazing story . . . a work of pure art.
